  • Listed below are some of the more frequent questions our customers ask.

How do I report a claim?

The easiest way is by calling 1-800-522-0146 during normal business hours. Also, you can report a claim on this web site or Fax your Claim to 830-629-3468, and you will receive a call from us within the next two business days.

    What is my deductible?

Your deductible amount can be located on the declaration page or the deductible endorsement and can vary depending on the cause of the damage. The deductible amount is subtracted from the amount of the damage, the limit of liability specified on the declaration page or the specific special limit of coverage liability within the policy, whichever is least.

Once I have been paid for damages to my home, who will complete the repairs?

As owner, the choice of a contractor is yours. Any specific question regarding repairs that you or your contractor may have should be directed to the adjuster that inspected your home.

Your lienholder is the entity that loaned you the money to purchase your home and carries a fiduciary interest. Your policy has a clause requiring the lienholder be included on any payment for damage to your home. You should contact the lienholder directly after a loss to inquire about their procedures for check endorsement.

Who does the temporary repairs to my home when needed after damage occurs?

Your policy states that the insured should use all reasonable means to protect the property from further damage following an event causing damage to your home. Any reasonable costs incurred will be reimbursed to you; receipts should be given to the adjuster that inspects your home. For example, if a windstorm damages your shingle roof, coverings should be used on damaged areas to prevent rain leakage after the storm passes.

    What is recoverable depreciation?

The Company offers replacement cost endorsements for your home and contents. If your policy includes these endorsements, any loss over $2500 is initially paid on an actual cash value basis (replacement cost less depreciation) until repairs are complete or replacement has occurred. Once the damaged property is repaired or replaced, the invoices or receipts should be sent to us for reimbursement up to the recoverable depreciation amount.
